Once a concept has been developed, graphic design is a process of bringing the intangible to reality.
Developing custom graphics requires a unquiet approach of integrating an organization's branding, ideals and culture into a balanced image that reflects these factors.
I work closely with a client to understand exactly what it is they are trying to state with a design. What is the product, service or message? Who is the audience? What are competitors doing? Understanding the concept is pivotal to developing the image.
Once the goals of the design are mutually understood I begin aggregating the core graphical elements. I bring together photos, fonts, color palettes, logos, existing design files, documents and all other related material so that I am fully equipped to start rendering the image.
My standard practice is to develop a set of mockups (approx. 3) for evaluation. One design takes the structured route (idea method), one design takes the free-form route (experiment method) and one takes an integrated approach (fusion method).
The mockups are all based on the preliminary fact gathering initiated at the onset of the design process. Although they may be vastly different in contrast to one another, my design mockups will always be rooted in a principal strategy established with a particular client.
Below is a brief itemization of my competencies in this area:
